Images of Corfu

Images of Corfu

Following our time on the island, this gallery provides the opportunity to put a number of images of Corfu together in the one place.

Corfu is among the most beautiful and popular islands in Greece. It is the second largest of the Ionian islands in the north west of the country. Due to their location they receive more rainfall than areas of the Greek mainland which lies further to the east. Hence Corfu is particularly green and covered with thousands of olive trees. The island is entrenched in the history of Greece from the beginnings of Greek mythology. The beaches are wonderful. The real highlight is the capital, Corfu Old Town, a UNESCO world heritage site, with its characteristic Venetian style architecture.

Corfu was among the first Greek islands to open to tourism but perhaps surprisingly it is one of the more rural, sleepy Greek islands. If you move inland away from the tourist centres its is easy to find yourself in villages where nothing seems to change.

Corfu Gallery

Our gallery aims to capture the essence of the island, island life and landscapes we encountered. Hopefully you’ll enjoy looking through the photos as much we did taking them. If you are looking for a photo of somewhere in particular that isn’t there let us know and we can check for you.
